1. Twitter was created in March 2006 by JACK DORSEY and launched in July of that year.

2. Twitter rapidly gained worldwide popularity, with over 300 million users as of 2011, generating over 300 million tweets and handling over 1.6 billion search queries per day. It is sometimes described as "the SMS of the Internet."

3. 3 years, 2 months and 1 day - The time it took from the first Tweet to the billionth Tweet. But now it takes only 1 week to send 1 billion tweets.

4. Twitter was mainly created to use on Mobile. That's why its has limit of 140 characters.

5. In February 2009, Twitter had a monthly growth (of users) of over 1300 percent - several times more than Facebook.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT ASTEROIDS :

1. On January 1, 1801, Giuseppe Piazzi discovered the first asteroid. He named this asteroid CERES, after the Sicilian Goddess of grain. Ceres is also the largest asteroid to have been discovered so far.

2. According astronomers, asteroids are debris left behind by the Big Bang that could not come together to form another planet because of the effect of Jupiter's gravitational pull.

3. Asteroids have been hitting the Earth since millions of years. However, due to the friction with Earth's atmosphere most of the asteroids get burnt. The asteroids that enter the Earth' s atmosphere are called METEORS while the ones that get burnt and appear as shooting stars are called METEORITES.

4. The Chicxulub impact crater created by asteroid is thought to be 65 million years old. It is also thought to be the source of the climate changes that led to the extinction of all of the dinosaurs.

5. Most asteroids are covered in dust. This dust is called REGOLITH. It is result of constant collisions in space.

Mark Twain

 Mark Twain was an outstanding writer, humorist, and had a wonderful personality. He was famous for writing interesting literature that grabs the interest of anyone who reads it.  Mark was considered as America's funniest man in his time. In all of his works, he never used his real name, Samuel Clemens. Instead he used his pen name, Mark Twain. Mark Twain is an expression used in Mississippi that means "safe water- twelve feet deep".

Mark Twain was born November 30 ,1830 on the night Halley's Comet came.

 On the vallies of  Mississippi River, 'mark twain' meant 'two fathoms deep.'

 Twain was very interested in parapsychology.
  
 Two weeks before his birth in 1835, the Halley Comet appeared. After seventy five years, on the day he died the Halley Comet again appeared but he couldn’t see it. It was in the year 1910 that he died.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT PENGUINS :

1. Penguins are found only in the Southern Hemisphere. The northernmost penguin species is the Galapagos penguin, which lives year-round near the equator. 

2. Penguins lost the ability to fly millions of years ago, but their powerful flipper-like wings and streamlined bodies make them very accomplished swimmers.

3. While swimming, penguins will leap above the surface of the water. This coats their plumage with tiny bubbles that reduce friction, allowing them to swim as fast as 20 miles per hour (32 kph).

4. Penguins’ eyes work better underwater than they do in the air, giving them superior eyesight to spot prey while hunting, even in cloudy or murky water.

5. The emperor penguin is the largest of the penguin species and can weigh up to 90 pounds. The fairy penguin is the smallest and weighs only 2 pounds. Depending on the species, a wild penguin can live 15-20 years

1. Before 1840 bicycles did not have cranks until a Scottish blacksmith KIRKPATRICK MACMILLAN made the first modern bicycle, which also featured iron rims. 

2. Before the safety bicycle, similar to the one we drive today and before the invention of the sprocket-chain drive, the cranks and pedals were on the front wheel.

3. The fastest speed ever recorded on a bicycle was attained by American Olympic Cyclist and Ironman triathlon competitor John Howard, when he reached 152.2 mph (244 km/hr) in 1985.

4. There are about 1 billion bicycles in the world, more than double the amount of cars.

5. Cycling three hours or 30 kilometers per week halves your risk of heart disease and strokes.

Health Tip:

Cabbage is considered to be an excellent home remedy for obesity. Recent research has revealed that a valuable chemical called tartaric acid is present in this vegetable which inhibits the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat. SWORD FISH:


The largest swordfish recorded being caught was in Chile in 1953, weighing 1,182 pounds.

Males mature when they are between three to four years old while females take a year longer.

Swordfish are not social and do not swim in schools.  They prefer to swim completely alone or not closer than 10 meters to another one of their kind.

Swordfish generally eat every night.  It is easier for them to rise to surface level in the dark to sneak up on smaller fish.

One of the most fascinating swordfish facts is the way that they can select organs to heat.  They are cold-blooded yet they can heat only their brain and eyes which significantly improves their vision.  Out of 25,000 bony fish species, swordfish are one of the only 22 that have this ability.

Sword Tail Fish:

Swordtail fish originate from river waters in Central America.The swordtail is the fastest swimmer of all the fish.

OCEAN SUNFISH:

The heaviest fish ever caught was the OCEAN SUNFISH. It weighed 4,928 lbs.

The ocean sunfish's scientific name is Mola mola.

Ocean sunfish don't have a tail: they have an appendage called a clavus, which is a result of the fusion of dorsal and anal fin rays.

Ocean sunfish like to eat jellyfish. They will also eat salps, small fish, plankton, algae, mollusks, brittle stars.

They used to remain in top water during night time,scientist spotted 31 fishes in Antarctic region and they used to play dead is they used to lie dead in water surface.

They are the most fertile fish breeds in the nature
