India enters Guinness Book of World Records; over 15000 sing 'Jana Gana Mana' in unison
With a tally of 15243, India has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for ‘the most people singing a national anthem simultaneously'. The previous record was held by Pakistan for 5800 individuals.

Leading the crowd in the chorus on stage were singers Shankar Mahadevan, Roopkumar and Sonali Rathod, Mahatma Gandhi’s grandson Tushar Gandhi, Prashant Damle, Vaishali Samant, Swapnil Bandodkar, Pramod Sarkate, Mrs Salaskar (widow of 26/11 martyr Vijay Salaskar) and others, who rendered live with Aurangabadkars to create the world record for the maximum number of people in any country singing their National Anthem in unison.

Shankar Madhavan said, “Our National Anthem is a wonderfully inspiring composition, and is a part of everyone’s psyche,” adding, “I am truly excited to have been a small part of this gigantic experience.”

Roopkumar Rathod said, “The National Anthem is greatly inspiring to all Indians from the Himalayas to the Indian Ocean and from Gujarat to Assam. It truly brings all Indians together as it has done in Aurangabad today. Sonali and I feel privileged to have been able to celebrate the spirit of Jana Gana Mana with thousands of Aurangabadkars.”

The Fictitious Group, winners of talent reality show India’s Got Talent also performed with their power packed acrobatic dance routines. Vernon from Fictitious said, “It’s exciting to dance in the service of our Nation! We salute those who laid down their lives for the country.

Native to Southeast Asia, these snakes constrict their prey to kill them This photo shows Fluffy, a reticulated python at the zoo, posing with zoo staff. The 18-year-old snake was 24-feet-long and 300-pounds and held the title of longest snake living in captivity by Guinness World Records.

Girls Plays With 6 King Kobras

India has long been known as the land of the snake charmers. But here’s something very unusual. An 8-year-old Indian girl who plays all day not with other girls, but with her pet King Cobras.

Kajol Khan lives in the village of Ghatampur in Uttar Pradesh, with her parents, six sisters, two brothers and six pet Cobras, her best friends. She comes from a family of snake catchers and hopes to carry on in her father’s footsteps someday. Her father, 55-year-old Taj Mohammad has been working as a snake catcher in Ghatampur for the past 45 years. While he has already passed on his skills to his son, he’s unexpectedly found himself a mentor to his daughter Kajol. The little girl has been used to snakes crawling around her since she was a baby, and hence feels nothing out of the ordinary in their presence. In fact, she prefers hanging out with her slithering buddies rather than go to school. She has been bitten – on her stomach, cheeks and hands – but this is hardly of any concern to her. Kajol has always been able to make a full recovery, thanks to her father’s herbal medicine, which has been a family secret for generations. “I have a lot of fun with the cobras. It hurts when they bite me but sometimes it’s my own fault because I tease them. It’s quite funny.”

Buffalo Body-Painting at Unique Traditional Festival

What started as a means to ward off intruders, is now a full-blown festival. The people of Jiangcheng County, China’s Yunnan Province, have their bulls painted and decorated by artists for a major event every year. The bulls are displayed in a riot of colors, painted with a variety of themes.

Traditionally, the bulls were painted by the Hani people of China in the belief that the practice would protect their village, mainly by preventing tigers from wandering into their homes. Of course, the threat of tigers and other man-eaters has reduced drastically in modern times, but the festival continues to be celebrated with much enthusiasm. The China-Laos-Vietnam Bull Painting Festival, as it is called, had 48 participating teams this year. The paraded bulls were hardly recognizable, covered in colors like bright blue, gold, yellow and red. But the paintings were far from abstract. The bulls served as a canvas for some real artistic talent, landscapes, portraits, and intricate patterns adorned their otherwise brown or white skin. Even the horns were covered with paint.

All About Frog

There are around 2,600 known species of frogs, which live on every continent, except Antarctica. 

The most venomous frog is the poison dart frog. This one is a strawberry poison dart frog due to its bright characteristic coloration. 


These amphibians are often called "dart frogs" due to the Amerindians' indigenous use of their toxic secretions to poison the tips of blow-darts.

The venom of a poison dart frog can kill approximately 2,200 people.

PINK DOLPHINS :-

1. Pink dolphins are not the same dolphins that you would see in the ocean; they have special adaptations to their habitat. In fact, river dolphins are only distantly related to sea dolphins.

2. Among the five species of river dolphins, Amazon pink dolphins are considered the most intelligent of them, with a brain capacity 40% larger than that of humans.

3. The Amazon River pink dolphins conform the largest population of river dolphins in existence as the other four species are functionally extinct or close to extinction.

4. The raise in contaminant levels of mercury have caused and increased number of deaths among pink dolphins, especially near gold mines where mercury is used as part of the gold mining process.

5. Pink dolphins can be found in pink, light gray or brown colors but there is not conclusive evidence of the reason why pink dolphins are pink.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT SHEEP:

1. Female sheep are called ewes, baby sheep are called lambs, and male sheep are called rams (they have prominent horns on their head). A group of sheep is called a flock.

2. Sheep are defenseless against predators like coyotes and wild dogs, as they are timid, nervous, and easily frightened.

3. Though the name sheep can be used for over 200 distinct species, its everyday usage mostly refers to Ovis Aries.

4. Sheep are ruminants, with four chambers in their stomach. The first chamber is used to store quickly digested food. It can be brought back into their mouths for chewing again, before it is fully digested. Nearly one-third of sheep’s life is spent ruminating.

5. Sheep see in color. An average sheep possesses a field vision ranging to 270 degrees. However, the amount of wool on their face can have an impact on their visual field.

DOG BECOME AN CAUSE FOR WAR

A war between Greece and Bulgaria began because a dog crossed their border.

In 1925 during what would later be known as the Incident at Petrich, a Greek invasion of Bulgaria allegedly began with a Greek soldier chasing a runaway across the Bulgarian border. Bulgarian sentries shot the soldier, prompting a response from the Greek army. Greek forces invaded, and occupied the Bulgarian town of Petrich near the border.

Bulgaria appealed to the League of Nations to end the occupation. The Leage of Nations admonished Greece for the invasion, and ordered them to withdraw their troops and pay a fine. The conflict ended up taking the lives of over 50 people. This incident is also sometimes referred to as the "War of the Stray Dog". 

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT DINOSAURS :-

1. The first dinosaur to be named was Megalosaurus. It was named in 1824 by Reverend William Buckland. Megalosaurus means ‘great lizard’ and it was about 9 metres long, and 3 metres tall.

2. The longest dinosaur was Seismosaurus, which measured over 40 metres, as long as five double-decker buses

3. The heaviest dinosaur was Brachiosaurus at 80 tonnes. It was the equivalent to 17 African Elephants. Brachiosaurus was 16m tall and 26m long and is the largest dinosaur skeleton to be mounted in a museum.

4. The first dinosaurs evolved in the middle to late Triassic period, about 230 million years ago. It was only at the beginning of the Jurassic period, about 200 million years ago, that dinosaurs began their rise to dominance.

5. The Chicxulub impact crater created by asteroid is thought to be 65 million years old. It is also thought to be the source of the climate changes that led to the extinction of all of the dinosaurs.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT SEA HORSES :-

1. Seahorses have no stomach and no teeth. Food passes through their digestive system very quickly and thus they should eat constantly in order to stay alive.

2. They may not look like a fish but they are true fishes.

3. The small fin on their back can flutter up to 35 times per second. Currently about 35 species of seahorses have been identified.

4. The female seahorse lay eggs into a brood pouch on the ventral of male seahorse. Male fertilize these eggs in his pouch and he carries the eggs in his pouch until they hatch, then releases little hatchlings into the water.

5. They are commonly used in Chinese herbal medicines and it is estimated that as much as 20 million sea horses are caught and sold each year for this purpose.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT CRABS :-

1. The teeth of a crab are in its stomach. After losing its claw, a crab can grow it back.

2. Crabs are also called decapods, since they have ten (deca) legs (pods). The first pair of legs is modified into claws, biologically known as CHELAE.

3. Crabs are crustaceans i.e. unlike most of the other animals; they do not have an endoskeleton. Rather, they have an exoskeleton that acts like a shied for their body.

4. In March of 2005, a new species was found 7,000 feet below sea level. It is blind. It has hair-like cillia on its arms. It lives near volcanic vents in the sea floor. It was named the "Yeti Crab".

5. Every year, 1.5 million tons of crabs are eaten over the world by humans. The species of crab that is consumed the most in the world is the Japanese Blue Crab or the Horse Crab.

1. Canaries live an average of 5 to 9 years. Canaries are named from the island in which they came, the Canary Islands.

2. Wild canaries are usually gray or green instead of the yellow color we know in domesticated birds.

3. They are small birds, averaging from 3 to 6 inches and weighing in at approximately 20 grams.

4. Canaries lay a clutch of three to seven eggs that hatch in approximately two weeks.

5. Almost every type of canary has the capability of song, but some prefer to sing a lot more than others.
