TIRED OF THE KIDS INSTALLING DUBIOUS SOFTWARE???

Here is the solution From one of Ma friends facebook page :

AppLocker is a new Windows 7 feature that ensures users can only run the programs you specify. Don't worry, that's easier to set up than it sounds: you can create a rule to allow everything signed by a particular publisher, so choose Microsoft, say, and that one rule will let you run all signed Microsoft applications.
Launch GPEDIT.MSC and go to Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Application Control Policies > AppLocker to get a feel for how this works.

LINUX

Exactly 17 years ago, on March 1994, Linux kernel version 1.0.0 was humbly released for the world to tinker with. To celebrate the historic moment, I have collected some really interesting facts about the Linux kernel. So if you are a Linux fan, grab a beer and read on.

A 21 year-old Finnish college student Linus Torvalds created the Linux kernel as a hobby.

Thousands of developers/programmers scattered all around the world are continuously contributing to the development of the Linux kernel.

The Linux kernel's official mascot is a penguin named Tux.

As of today, only 2% of the Linux kernel has been written by Linus Torvalds.

The Linux kernel is written in the version of the C programming language.

3. Asteroids have been hitting the Earth since millions of years. However, due to the friction with Earth's atmosphere most of the asteroids get burnt. The asteroids that enter the Earth' s atmosphere are called METEORS while the ones that get burnt and appear as shooting stars are called METEORITES.

4. The Chicxulub impact crater created by asteroid is thought to be 65 million years old. It is also thought to be the source of the climate changes that led to the extinction of all of the dinosaurs.

5. Most asteroids are covered in dust. This dust is called REGOLITH. It is result of constant collisions in space.

SWORD FISH:

The largest swordfish recorded being caught was in Chile in 1953, weighing 1,182 pounds.

Males mature when they are between three to four years old while females take a year longer.

Swordfish are not social and do not swim in schools.  They prefer to swim completely alone or not closer than 10 meters to another one of their kind.

Swordfish generally eat every night.  It is easier for them to rise to surface level in the dark to sneak up on smaller fish.

One of the most fascinating swordfish facts is the way that they can select organs to heat.  They are cold-blooded yet they can heat only their brain and eyes which significantly improves their vision.  Out of 25,000 bony fish species, swordfish are one of the only 22 that have this ability.

Euglena

Euglenas (Singular: Euglena) are unicellular organisms that belong to the class Euglenoidea in the phylum Euglenozoa.

Euglena have the characteristics of both a plant and an animal.

The eyespot of a Euglena is a primitive organelle that filters sunlight into the photo-sensitive structures present at the base of the flagellum. It allows only certain wavelengths of light to hit the structures. The photo-sensitive structures then detect the light that is transmitted through the eyespot and enable the Euglena to accordingly adjust its position to enhance photosynthesis.

It forms a protective wall around itself and lies inactive as a spore until environmental conditions improve. Euglena lacks cell walls. Instead it possesses a pellicle made of protein.

DO TWINS HAVE SAME DNA AND FINGERPRINTS ?? :

Identical twins, formed when one fertilized egg splits, are the only people in the world with identical DNA. Fraternal twins, on the other hand, are formed when two different eggs are fertilized. Genetically speaking, fraternal twins are no closer than normal siblings, sharing only about 50% of their genes.
Although identical twins have the same genotype, or DNA, they have different phenotypes, meaning that the same DNA is expressed in different ways.
Traits determined by phenotype, such as fingerprints and physical appearance, are the result of "the interaction of the individuals genes and the developmental environment in the uterus." Thus, a DNA test can't determine the difference between identical twins, while a simple fingerprint can

Mullaperiyar

The Mullaperiyar dam is located at 9° 31′ 43″ N, 77° 8′ 39″ E in the Peerimedu Taluk of Idukki district, Kerala state of India bordering the state of Tamil Naudu . It was constructed in the head waters of Periyar river in 1895.  The quality of British construction stood it in good stead till 1979 when its vulnerability got exposed by the media resulting in the reduction of water level from 152 to 136 feet by opening the spill ways in 1980.  Recent developments in the area is paving its way to make it the biggest disaster of man kind if neglected.  The ascetic man on the weaker side of the dam tremble with fear of his existence and the modesty in him is tormented by unaccountability of the authorities.  A proposal for the new dam was received with effusive acclamation though political consensus among the states could not be achieved yet.  This is a comprehensive study of the biggest dam disaster of the past with Mullaperiyar.  By spreading the news and collecting votes we wish to shake the insolvent might that stand against the weak dam.

Why Onion make Us cry?

Inside the onion cells there are some chemical compounds which contain sulfur. When you cut an onion its cells are broken and those chemical compounds then undergo a reaction that transforms them into a more volatile sulfured products, which are released into the air.

These sulfured compounds react with the moisture in your eyes forming sulfuric acid, which produces a burning sensation. The nerve endings in your eyes are very sensitive and so they pick up on this irritation. The brain reacts by telling your tear ducts to produce more water, to dilute the irritating acid. So you cry to keep your eyes protected from the acid.

There are some tricks to make onion-dicing less problematic:

Chop the onion under cold water. The volatile sulfured compounds will be released but then they react with the water, instead of reaching your eyes.

You can freeze the onion for 10 minutes before cutting it. The cold temperature of the onion will slow down the chemical reaction which forms the volatile sulfured compunds.

Helios:

Eelios was one of a pair of deep-space probes developed by the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) in a cooperative program with NASA.
NASA supplied the Titan/Centaur launch vehicle.
The spacecraft was equipped with two booms and a 32-m electric dipole.
The payload consisted of a fluxgate magnetometer; electric and magnetic wave experiments, which covered various bands in the frequency range 6 Hz to 3 MHz; charged particle experiments, which covered various energy ranges starting with solar wind thermal energies and extending to 1 GeV; a zodiacal light experiment; and a micrometeoroid experiment. The purpose of the mission was to make pioneering measurements of the interplanetary medium from the vicinity of the earth's orbit to 0.3 AU.
The outer surface was coated with a conductive material, resulting in a plasma-sheath potential of typically 5 eV.
The spacecraft was capable of being operated at bit rates of from 4096 to 8 bps, variable by factors of two. While the spacecraft was moving to perihelion, it was generally operated from 64 to 256 bps; near 0.3 AU, it was operated at higher bit rates..

Health Tip:

Hypertension means sustain elevation of bp above normal.Primary cause 95% unknown secondary 5% known cause 1 renal 2 endocrine 3 pregnancy.

INTERESTING FACTS-MERCURY

1. Mercury completes a trip around the Sun every 88 days, speeding through space at nearly 50 km per second, faster than any other planet.

2. Unlike Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, which were discovered in the last few hundred years, ancient peoples have known about Mercury for thousands of years.

3. Mercury is so small that it has too little gravity to hold an atmosphere like Earth or Venus.

4. Only one spacecraft has ever visited Mercury: Mariner 10 in 1974-75. Mariner 10's discovery that Mercury has a very weak magnetic field, similar to but weaker than Earth's, was a major surprise.

5. Mercury speeds around the Sun in a wildly elliptical (non-circular) orbit that takes it as close as 47 million km and as far as 70 million km from the Sun

Want to increase Internet speed in mozila firefox?

In these days, mozila firefox is most popular browser for net surfers.
Here is some awesome tricks to speedup your firefox
Are you tired with the slow internet conections.
Here is some tricks to make your browsing with firefox 2 or 3 times faster.
Follow the steps-
Reduce the amount of RAM Firefox uses for it’s cache feature Here’s
how to do it:
1. Type “about:config” (no quotes) in the adress bar in the browser.
2. Find “browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewer”
3. Set it’s value to “0“;(Zero)
Increase the Speed in Which Firefox loads pages
1. Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit Enter.
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time.
When you enable pipeliningit will make several at once,
which really speeds up page loading.)
2. Alter the entries as follows: Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”
Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”
Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 10.
This means it will make 10 requests at once.
3. Lastly, right-click anywhereand select
New-> Integer.Nameit “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and
set its value to “0“;.
(Zero) This value is the amount of time the browser waits
before it acts on information itreceives.
If you’re using a broadband connection you’ll load pages faster now.
Optionally (for even faster web browsing) here are some more options for your
about:config (you might have to create some of these entries by
Right Click –> New– >
Interger or String network.dns.disableIPv6:set “false”
“content.notify.backoffcount”: set “5“; (Five)
“plugin.expose_full_path”: set “true”.
“ui.submenuDelay”: set “0; (zero)
Reduce RAM usage to 10mb when Firefox is minimized:
This little hack will drop Firefox’s RAM usage down to 10 Mb when minimized:
1. Open Firefox and go to the Address Bar.
Type in about:config and then press Enter.
2. Right Click in the page and select New -> Boolean.
3. In the box that pops up enter “config.trim_on_minimize”. Press Enter.
4. Now select True and then press Enter.
