ART GUYS MAKE HIS OWN IPAD

chinese-art-student-builds-home-made-ipad-for-his-girlfriend.

What’s the best way to show a girl you love her? Sure, you could always buy her an iPad, but why not build her one?

Chinese art student, Wei Xinlong wanted to show his commitment to his long distance girlfriend by building her a touchscreen tablet PC for their daily video chat dates. This way when he leaves for Shenzhen to work, they’ll be able to keep in touch easier.

As a student in Northeas Normal University in Changchun, Jilin, Wei was familiar with electronics and engineering and found most answers to questions he had online. He bought most of the parts of the device in second-hand market and salvaged them from dismantled laptops. He even built some of the parts himself, such as a heat conductor made from an aluminum soda can and a chopstick. Wei dedicated himself to the device for 10 days before it was completed, and even managed to place an Apple logo with rhinestones on it.

The features on his “iPad” include a touchscreen, built in webcam, a microphone, four USB slots, LAN socket and runs on a lithium battery. It may be a step down from Apple’s top-selling product, but it still can read e-books, watch movies, listen to music and even play video games. And it only cost Wei 800 yuan ($126) to build compared to Apple’s iPad price of around $500.

Wei’s remarkable final product is truly a representation of his hard work and dedication. It will certainly reinforce his long-distance relationship as well as put boyfriends around the world to shame.

Girls Plays With 6 King Kobras

India has long been known as the land of the snake charmers. But here’s something very unusual. An 8-year-old Indian girl who plays all day not with other girls, but with her pet King Cobras.

Kajol Khan lives in the village of Ghatampur in Uttar Pradesh, with her parents, six sisters, two brothers and six pet Cobras, her best friends. She comes from a family of snake catchers and hopes to carry
on in her father’s footsteps someday. Her father, 55-year-old Taj Mohammad has been working as a snake catcher in Ghatampur for the past 45 years. While he has already passed on his skills to his son, he’s unexpectedly found himself a mentor to his daughter Kajol. The little girl has been used to snakes crawling around her since she was a baby, and hence feels nothing out of the ordinary in their presence. In fact, she prefers hanging out with her slithering buddies rather than go to school. She has been bitten – on her stomach, cheeks and hands – but this is hardly of any concern to her. Kajol has always been able to make a full recovery, thanks to her father’s herbal medicine, which has been a family secret for generations. “I have a lot of fun with the cobras. It hurts when they bite me but sometimes it’s my own fault because I tease them. It’s quite funny.”

Buffalo Body-Painting at Unique Traditional Festival

What started as a means to ward off intruders, is now a full-blown festival. The people of Jiangcheng County, China’s Yunnan Province, have their bulls painted and decorated by artists for a major event every year. The bulls are displayed in a riot of colors, painted with a variety of themes.
Traditionally, the bulls were painted by the Hani people of China in the belief that the practice would protect their village, mainly by preventing tigers from wandering into their homes. Of course, the threat of tigers and other man-eaters has reduced drastically in modern times, but the festival continues to be celebrated with much enthusiasm. The China-Laos-Vietnam Bull Painting Festival, as it is called, had 48 participating teams this year. The paraded bulls were hardly recognizable, covered in colors like bright blue, gold, yellow and red. But the paintings were far from abstract. The bulls served as a canvas for some real artistic talent, landscapes, portraits, and intricate patterns adorned their otherwise brown or white skin. Even the horns were covered with paint.

Guy Spends Six Years Making the World’s Largest Gumball

This is one of the grossest world records I have ever covered, but it’s just so unusual I couldn’t resist sharing it with you guys. A man has kept the around 95,200 pieces of nicotine gum he has chewed over the last six years and put them all together in what is considered the world’s largest gumball.
50-year-old Barry Chappell, from California’s Palos Verdes Estates, has been busy over the last few years, building a 175-pound chewy monstrosity with a diameter of 62 inches, out of the tens of thousands of nicotine gum pieces he’s chewed. Barry is completely aware of the fact that most people who hear about his hobby are more or less disgusted, but that doesn’t make him less proud of his achievement. After all he did stick to the task for six long years, using every one of the approximately 95,200 pieces of nicotine gum he has used to help him stay away from cigarettes. Now his efforts are about to be rewarded, as Ripley’s Believe It or Not decided to acquire his giant gumball and present it as the largest medicated gumball in the world.

All About Frog

There are around 2,600 known species of frogs, which live on every continent, except Antarctica.

The most venomous frog is the poison dart frog. This one is a strawberry poison dart frog due to its bright characteristic coloration.

These amphibians are often called "dart frogs" due to the Amerindians' indigenous use of their toxic secretions to poison the tips of blow-darts.

The venom of a poison dart frog can kill approximately 2,200 people.
